2009 NRL season finance?

I can't wait for this season to start and I hope manly don't take the loss at the gf too hard. But I have heard before that Rugby league Australia is going down in the ratings on tv, losing money and is not getting the support it should. Are these just stupid afl rumors? Or are we really going to see changes in the NRL (bad changes)
