Is it true that how many calories you burn depends on how big you are?

my friend told me that this is true that the bigger you are the more calories you burn. he said i should eat around 1200 calories still but, doing 20 mins of intermediate kickboxing twice a day will burn almost 800 calories for me since i weigh 288 at 5"7. was just wondering if this is true
