Breeding advice question...AI information? (lol..I know the question is long but please read it!)?

I'm from the caribbean and I have decided to become a rottie breeder,after being intrested in breeding for a couple years I've decided to proceed..I still have alot to learn.My 2 1/2 year old bi**h was tested recently and was also proven in the ring about 2 months ago..she was on her 11th day of her heat yesterday and had an AI ( we opted for the AI because of time and environmental factors and constraints) the stud is a young local champion..I was told by the vet on Saturday after she had taken a smear that yesterday would have been the ideal day to breed her...but the vet that did the AI told me that she could'nt know for sure and he advised me to get a teaser male and see if she would stand and accept him on Wednesday and if she did he said to bring her for another AI the same day to be sure...My questions are..1) would the smear that the 1st vet took be accurate?...and 2) should I really carry her for another AI on Wednesday if she is still willing to accept a male?
