Do you think the movie "Precious" was demeaning to Black women?

Yeah, I agree that the performances were powerful, but the way that the character "Precious" was depicted, was in my opinion, demeaning and offensive, considering that there are millions more Black women who do not fit this image. What was your opinion on the film's imagery?
