Is it possible to hypnotise a mouse?

I have this little mouse called jasper, and is about half a year old. He love to come out of his cage and he is really energetic, except lately i found if I stroke him gently along the jawline (between his ear and eye following the angle of his chin) he just stops all of a sudden and sits there and doesn't move, and then when I stop he just kinda of wakes up and continues running around like nothing ever happened. I am unsure as to whether this is because he really loves to be scratched there, or if this is some kind of hypnotism? and whether it's just my mouse that does this or if other peoples mice do too? if you have an answer, please share, and if you have mice try this on them and tell me if they do the same thing? ok thanks...
